Job Title: Electrical/Manufacturing Engineering

Location: Boise, ID

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Electrical/Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This individual will play a critical role in designing electronics for innovative devices, taking concepts from initial ideas through to fully manufacturable products. This role involves developing schematics, designing board layouts, and managing all other aspects necessary to turn concepts into final products. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in working with contract manufacturers and arranging regulatory testing, including UL, FCC, and CE certification. Additionally, the successful candidate will be capable of designing and developing both test tools and build processes to support product validation and production. A strong attention to detail, an aptitude for learning new systems, and excellent communication skills are essential for this role. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement electronics for new devices, taking projects from concept to production-ready. 
  • Develop detailed schematics, board layouts, and complete bills of materials (BOM) to ensure product readiness for manufacturing. 
  • Collaborate with contract manufacturers, providing technical support and guidance to ensure successful and efficient production. 
  • Coordinate and arrange required regulatory testing for products, including UL, FCC, CE, and other relevant certifications. 
  • Develop and maintain test tools, fixtures, and build tools/processes for validating and assembling devices. 
  • Conduct design reviews and ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices. 
  • Work cross-functionally with teams, including mechanical engineering, software development, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration of all product components. 
  • Maintain thorough documentation of design processes, testing results, and project progress. 
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting throughout the product lifecycle. 
  • Continuously research and integrate new technologies, tools, and techniques to enhance product design and manufacturing efficiency. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. 
  • Proven experience in designing electronic systems, including schematic capture, PCB layout, and BOM creation. 
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and processes for certifications, including UL, FCC, and CE. 
  • Proficiency in working with contract manufacturers and managing relationships to support production goals. 
  • Familiarity with testing tools, equipment, and best practices for product validation and process optimization. 
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. 
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to learn new systems, technologies, and processes quickly and independently.

Preferred Skills: 

  • Experience with CAD software for PCB design (e.g., Altium, Eagle, or similar). 
  • Knowledge of embedded systems, microcontroller-based designs, and firmware development.
